ABMI Snow Tracking Workshop

Fiera personnel recently put on a training workshop for consultants who will be collecting snow track data for the ABMI this winter.

With over 18 days since the last snowfall, and a herd of plains bison milling about in the area, these were some challenging tracking conditions.  But, with a day of classroom instruction under their belts, and several hours of field instruction, the keen eyes of these consultants-turned-students were able to discern confidently the sign of weasel, squirrel, grouse, deer, elk, coyote, fox, and porcupine out of the chaos.
