A fully outdoor, immersive workshop and skills evaluation with an opportunity for certification.
This 2-day intensive field-based workshop and skills evaluation is an opportunity of unparalleled quality-focused learning from one of North America’s top wildlife trackers. This workshop will provide an opportunity for naturalists, field biologists, and outdoor enthusiasts of any skill-level to advance their abilities in wildlife track and sign identification and interpretation, and earn an internationally recognized Track and Sign Certification from Cybertracker North America.
The Cybertracker program offers some of the most organic and high quality learning you will ever experience, packed into an intensive two-day skills evaluation. The workshop is designed to challenge participants while at the same time deeply advancing their knowledge and understanding. The Track & Sign Certification credential is not guaranteed, and depends on the performance of each individual, and features escalating levels of certification for those that qualify.
Duration: 2-days (~16 hours of field-based learning)
Fees for scheduled Track and Sign Certification Evaluations: $700 CAD per participant.
Scheduled Courses & Locations: Our next Track & Sign Certification is scheduled for Saturday & Sunday, October 16 & 17, 2021 in the Edmonton Region. Participants are responsible for their own transportation to and from the venue. There are only 10 openings, and it is expected to sell out quickly. Track and Sign Certification workshops can occur in any season, through almost any weather conditions.
Instructor David Moskowitz is a professional tracker, photographer, filmmaker, and is author of a highly regarded wildlife tracking field guide. Based out of Washington, USA, he teaches tracking internationally.
Venue: Venue will vary from event to event, and the precise location of the evaluation is not disclosed until necessary.
Prerequisites: None. Despite being referred to as “Evaluations,” these Track and Sign Certification workshops are uniquely welcoming and rewarding to even the most novice participants, while at the same time they are a pinnacle challenge and measure of achievement for more advanced trackers. Participants should be fit enough to spend two full days outdoors hiking, and be comfortable in rugged terrain and isolated outdoor conditions.
**Note: at this time, participants must be adults of 18 years or older on the date of the event**
Preparation: Track and Sign Certification workshops are comprised of two long days outside at a minimum of two different wilderness settings, and may be scheduled for any time of year. Come prepared with appropriate footwear for the season and conditions, and clothes for all manner of weather. Bouts of inactivity during the process are common, as well as moderate bouts of hiking. Participants are responsible for their own accommodation, travel, food & refreshments.
