Tracking Workshops

Track & Sign Specialist Certification – May 23 & 24, 2026, Lardeau Valley, BC.

Lardeau Valley, BC | May 23 & 24, 2026 | Ages 18+

Fiera Biological Consulting is excited to be partnering with Rob Shoemaker (Worn Out Boots) to bring to Canada for the first time, a Track & Sign Specialist Certification.

This 2-day field-based workshop provides participants with the opportunity to earn a Track & Sign Specialist Certification, the highest level of Track & Sign certification available under the CyberTracker system. The Workshop will be led by Sage Raymond and David Moskowitz.

The Specialist Certification follows the same format as Standard Certifications, but has more “very complex” questions and no “easy” questions.

Eligibility & Prerequisites
Priority will be given to Canadian residents with:

  • a Track & Sign Professional certificate; or
  • a Track & Sign Level 3 certificate with a score of 97% or higher
    • Interested Canadian parties with lower Level 3 scores should contact us

Non-Canadian participants may register after July 31st, 2025, if space remains.

What to Expect

  • Two full days in the outdoors in possibly rugged, isolated terrain, in uncertain weather.
  • Transportation, accommodation, and meals are the responsibility of each participant.

About the Location

  • The Lardeau Valley is located at the north end of Kootenay Lake in the West Kootenay Valley. The area is remote, mountainous, and sparsely populated (by people, not wildlife).
  • Wildlife in the region includes bears, cougars, wolverines, moose, elk, deer, mountain goats, bighorn sheep, and much more.
  • The area boasts five biogeoclimatic zones, from low wet valley-bottoms with cedar and cottonwoods, to snow-capped peaks over alpine meadows.
  • The community of Meadow Creek, near the workshop activities, has a gas station, restaurant, pub, and campsite. More civilized, hotel accommodations can be found ~30 minutes away, in Kaslo.

Refund Policy:

Refunds are only available if your spot can be filled. If so, you’ll receive a full refund minus a small processing fee. No refunds are possible after April 23, 2026.
