Track & Sign Certification – March 4 & 5, 2027, Edmonton, Alberta

Edmonton Area | March 4 & 13, 2027 | Ages 18+ | | Limited Space

We’ve partnered with the Alberta Chapter of The Wildlife Society (ACTWS) to host this two-day Track & Sign Certification event!

This field-based evaluation offers participants the opportunity to earn Track & Sign Certification through Tracker Certification North America (TCNA), at levels ranging from Level 1 to Professional (Level 4). A minimum score of 70% is required to achieve certification.

Attending the ACTWS Conference?

This Certification takes place immediately before the ACTWS Conference, making it a great opportunity for conference attendees to extend their visit, share travel expenses, and potentially take advantage of conference accommodation rates. For those travelling from outside the Edmonton area, it’s also an exceptional opportunity to explore the local ecology through the tracks and signs of its wildlife. And if you’re travelling to Edmonton specifically for the Certification, why not extend your stay and attend the conference?

What to Expect

If the certification part of this deeply educational workshop is important to you, we strongly recommend preparing in advance. Fiera offers a variety of wildlife tracking workshops to help participants develop their skills and prepare for certification, including a bunch of other workshops in partnership with ACTWS.

• Evaluation format: This is a skills assessment rather than a conventional instructional workshop. Teaching and discussion occur after participants have submitted their answers to each tracking question.
• Field conditions: Two full days outdoors, potentially in rugged or isolated terrain and variable winter weather. Snowshoes may be required.
• Logistics: Participants are responsible for their own transportation, accommodation, and meals.
